Falls are one of the most common causes of construction site accidents in New Jersey and elsewhere. A fall can easily lead to injuries such as bone fractures and severe abrasions. A man in another state was injured at a construction site due to a fall.
How the construction accident occurred
The recent construction accident took place a little before 9 a.m. on a Friday. According to authorities, a male construction worker was at an under-construction home when he suddenly fell into the basement. Emergency medical service workers treated the man while he was in the basement.
The first responders then stabilized the accident victim and brought him out of the basement at around 9:12 a.m. by using ropes since a zero- to 30-degree slope was involved. He was then taken to a medical center. His condition was reportedly serious.
How a workers’ compensation attorney may help
It may behoove individuals injured at construction sites to contact a workers’ compensation attorney at the first opportunity. An attorney in New Jersey can help an injured worker file a workers’ compensation claim, seeking monetary benefits to cover his or her related medical costs and the loss of wages stemming from his or her accident. The lawyer may also help the individual file the appropriate motion if the workers’ compensation claim is denied initially. The attorney will strive to ensure the client receives the full amount of benefits to which he or she is entitled given the circumstances surrounding the on-the-job accident.
