On Behalf of | Mar 19, 2024 | Construction Workers Accidents

Falls are one of the top causes of construction accidents in New Jersey and across the country. These accidents often result in traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord trauma, broken bones and amputations. A construction site worker in another state reportedly suffered serious injuries in a fall.

How the construction site accident happened

The recent construction accident took place on a Tuesday. According to police, a man, 62 years old, used a ladder to take tools to a roof over the second floor of a building. He fell backwards from the ladder and struck a hard surface.

First responders took the accident victim to a medical center via helicopter. Authorities said he suffered moderate head and internal injuries in the fall. The accident was reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and an investigator was assigned to visit the site and investigate what occurred and whether any safety guidelines were violated..

How an attorney may help

A construction worker who is hurt on the job in New Jersey may want to get in touch with a workers’ compensation attorney as soon as possible. An attorney can help the worker file a workers’ compensation injury claim for monetary benefits to cover his or her medical bills and the loss of wages stemming from the accident. The attorney may also help the worker file the appropriate Motion if the claim is initially denied. The attorney’s main aim will be to help the worker receive all available benefits to which he or she is entitled following the injury-causing workplace accident.
